Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that Spanish midfielder Rodri will return to Manchester next Friday to rejoin the team after his summer vacation.

These official statements come amidst ongoing speculation in the sports world about Rodri’s potential move to La Liga, particularly following reports of an agreement between him and Barcelona.

Speaking to the media after City’s 3-1 friendly win against Atlético Madrid, Maresca explained that the Spanish international’s return means he will rejoin the club’s daily routine and adhere to the training program.

Despite reports suggesting an agreement between the player and the Catalan club, the transfer remains contingent on the outcome of direct negotiations between the two clubs in the coming period.

In a related development, current information indicates that Manchester City rejected Barcelona’s initial offer for the midfielder, reiterating their stance on their financial demands for his transfer.

Enzo Maresca stated, “At the moment, Rodri will be in Manchester on Friday,” indicating that the player remains part of his current plans pending any official developments in the administrative negotiations between the two parties.

Rodri, who won the Golden Ball award at the World Cup, is considered a key player for the English team, making his departure a complex financial arrangement.
