Salah arrives in Türkiye ahead of expected move to Trabzonspor

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah officially completed his move to Turkish club Trabzonspor on Wednesday, marking a new chapter in his career after leaving Liverpool at the end of last season following nine years at Anfield, a period filled with individual and team accolades.

Trabzonspor becomes Salah’s seventh club, following Al Mokawloon Al Arab, Basel, Chelsea, Fiorentina, Roma, and Liverpool.

The Turkish newspaper Akşam revealed details of the deal, stating that the Egyptian player signed a two-year contract with the club, earning €17 million annually.

One notable and intriguing clause in the agreement stipulates that Salah will receive 20% of the revenue generated from the sale of any merchandise bearing his name or image.

Beşiktaş had initiated talks with Salah earlier in the current summer transfer window, but a disagreement over financial terms prevented the deal from being finalized.

Thus, Salah closes the chapter on nine years full of titles and achievements with Liverpool, during which he won the English Premier League title, the Champions League, the Club World Cup, and the European Super Cup, in addition to achieving a long list of individual awards and records.
