Paris Saint-Germain grants Hakimi extra leave and postpones his return to training until next Monday.

The return of Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain training has been postponed until next Monday.

Hakimi was expected to resume training after a four-week break following Morocco’s elimination from the 2016 World Cup quarter-finals against France on July 9th. However, the Parisian club’s management opted to grant him additional days of rest, according to French media reports.

The Moroccan full-back will rejoin his French international teammates, including Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, Warren Zaire, and Lucas Hernandez, whose return was also delayed due to Paris Saint-Germain’s friendly match against Manchester United next Saturday.

The same sources suggested that the decision to extend Hakimi’s vacation was related to the intense schedule the player had during the last two seasons, after he participated with the Moroccan national team in the Paris 2024 Olympics, then had a long season with Paris Saint-Germain, before participating in the Club World Cup, then the Africa Cup of Nations finals, and finally the 2026 World Cup with the “Atlas Lions”.
