Officially… Liverpool announce the signing of Araujo on loan
Liverpool Football Club has officially announced the signing of Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan to bolster their defense during the current summer transfer window.
The agreement includes a non-obligatory purchase option, allowing Liverpool to finalize the deal permanently at the end of the season for €55 million. The English club will also cover 100% of the player’s salary and other financial entitlements throughout the loan period.
The move was initiated by Araujo himself. The Uruguayan defender realized the difficulty of securing a regular starting place in manager Hansi Flick’s tactical system, prompting him to seek a new competitive environment that would guarantee him consistent playing time and help him rediscover his high level of performance.
