Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois rejoined Real Madrid’s pre-season training after his summer break following the World Cup. He began his first training program under manager José Mourinho, while the Belgian goalkeeper was alone at the Valdebebas training complex, as the rest of the squad was in Hungary for a friendly match.

Courtois underwent intensive physical training to regain fitness after the minor muscle injury he sustained during the match against Spain in the recent World Cup hosted by the United States. The medical staff is awaiting further development before integrating him into group training. He is expected to join his teammates upon their return from their overseas training camp for the upcoming friendly match against Deportivo La Coruña.

In a related context, the technical management of the Royal Club is awaiting the return of another group of international players who participated in the advanced stages of the World Cup during the coming week, as Cucurella, Konate, Tchouaméni and Mbappé are all expected to arrive in Madrid to complete preparations for the new season. This plan aims to bring together all the main pillars of the team under Mourinho’s supervision before the end of the current preparatory period.
