A replacement for Julian Alvarez at Barcelona emerges from Türkiye.

Barcelona have opened a new avenue in their search for a striker after their attempts to sign Julian Álvarez faltered and Ferran Torres’ departure seems imminent. The club has been offered the services of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who has reportedly expressed his willingness to take a pay cut to move to Camp Nou. However, the transfer fee, approaching €90 million, remains the biggest obstacle to completing the deal.
Barcelona are still searching for a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski, having identified Julian Álvarez as their top priority to bolster their center-forward position. However, Atlético Madrid’s firm stance has made acquiring the Argentine striker even more difficult.
The need for a new striker is further amplified by Ferran Torres’ desire to leave Barcelona and join Paris Saint-Germain, where he hopes to secure more playing time and reunite with Luis Enrique.
Amid these developments, a new twist has emerged in Barcelona’s calculations, as Victor Osimhen’s agent has reportedly offered the Nigerian striker’s services to the Catalan club, according to the newspaper Fanatik.
Osimhen, for his part, is looking for a new challenge after two years with Galatasaray. He believes a move to Barcelona could offer him a chance to return to one of Europe’s strongest leagues, especially since he would be willing to make financial concessions if it would help him finalize the deal.
Barcelona is not opposed to the idea of signing Osimhen. The club’s management believes the striker possesses the attacking prowess to score more than 30 goals a season, and that his style would suit Hansi Flick’s tactics.
However, the main obstacle lies in the financial cost; the deal is estimated at around €90 million, a figure Barcelona is unwilling to pay during the current transfer window.
Thus, Osimhen has become a new name on Barcelona’s shortlist, but his inclusion in the discussions does not necessarily mean the deal is imminent. The club is still weighing the cost of signing him against the opportunity to give playing time to its current players, particularly Hamza Abdelkarim, or to explore other, less expensive options.
