Jose Mourinho continues to push for Rodri’s transfer to Real Madrid
Journalist Alberto Pereiro confirmed that José Mourinho is among the most vocal advocates within Real Madrid for securing the signing of Rodri, as the Manchester City midfielder is one of his top targets for strengthening the team.
He explained that Mourinho is closely monitoring the situation, personally submitting his case to Real Madrid, including during the current transfer window.
A report was submitted to Real Madrid, and both clubs entered negotiations for Rodri’s transfer, with a fee between 60 and 70 million euros. However, the talks have not progressed significantly.
Nevertheless, Rodri and Manchester City have begun to finalize his future, leading both parties to consider other offers from Real Madrid.
Pereiro added that Barcelona capitalized on this situation and entered the race for the player, submitting a financial offer close to the value being discussed in the Madrid negotiations, thus reigniting the competition for the midfielder’s signature.
