Full financial details of Diomande’s transfer to Real Madrid

Journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Real Madrid and RB Leipzig are close to finalizing the transfer of Ivorian winger Yann Diomande after significant progress in negotiations. Only the final paperwork and formalities remain before the two clubs sign the official contracts, bringing to a close one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer window.
According to the reliable German journalist, all financial details of the deal have been agreed upon between the two clubs. Real Madrid has agreed to pay a fixed and guaranteed fee of €125 million to the German club. Plettenberg adds that the deal also includes variables, divided into easily achievable clauses and performance-related bonuses. The total value of the transfer is expected to reach €135 million if the first clauses are activated.
Plettenberg further states that if all the variable clauses are activated, the total value of the deal could reach €140 million, making it the most expensive transfer in Real Madrid’s history, surpassing the previous records paid for Jude Bellingham and Eden Hazard.
Diomande spent the first half of 2025 playing for Leganés’ reserve team before completing his move to Germany six months later. As part of the agreement made when the striker left Spain for RB Leipzig, Leganés retained a percentage of any future transfer fee.
Therefore, the club will receive approximately 5% of any profit generated from the player’s sale, according to the agreed clause, providing a significant financial boost ahead of the new domestic season.
Diomande, who recently recovered from an infection and joined Leipzig’s training camp in Austria to maintain his fitness, is now awaiting final clearance to leave the camp. He has already agreed to a contract with Real Madrid until June 2030 and is eagerly anticipating the completion of his transfer to the Spanish club.
Following the completion of the transfer between the two clubs, Diomande may soon travel to Spain to undergo the mandatory medical examinations at the Sanitas clinic before being officially presented to the fans as Real Madrid’s latest signing.
