Simeone: “The situation is very clear regarding Julián Álvarez
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has confirmed that his club has made a decision regarding the future of Argentine striker Julian Alvarez, stating that he will not be allowed to leave during the current summer transfer window.
Alvarez had requested a transfer from Atletico Madrid while on international duty with Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, but the club’s CEO, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, refused, insisting that he would not sell the player for €100 million, or even €150 or €200 million.
Simeone stated at a press conference in Seoul, South Korea: “The situation is very clear, and the club has made a decision, which Miguel Angel (the CEO) explained very well.”
He added: “From a sporting perspective, we are very happy to have a player like Julian, and we will help him continue to develop and improve.”
